My name is Andrea and I am a third-year German teacher at West Mecklenburg High School. Though I grew up an Army Brat, I consider Bettendorf, Iowa to be my hometown. After graduating from Bettendorf High School, I attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA. After college I joined Teach For America. I finished my two year TFA commitment at WM and decided to stay for at least one more year to take my students on the school’s first ever 10-day trip to Germany!
I am married (to another teacher!) and we have a Westie named Fergus. My husband’s name is David and we met at the University of Iowa. When I am not teaching or studying for my UNCC classes, I enjoy reading, watching movies, cheering for the Hawkeyes, traveling, and playing with my puppy.
